How to take care of your lingerie

Undergarments, whether you have invested your latest pay check on them or you just bought affordable sexy clothing and lingerie from your favorite store, should be well-cared for so they will last a long time. Many of us like to cut off the tags because they can be irritating and most women think they are not sexy at all. Well, that's alright just as long as you read the fabric care and washing labels before snipping them off.

Hand washing the fabric is a great idea, but it can be time consuming. If you pay attention to the washing instructions on the label, you'll find out that there are some fabrics that can withstand washing machines, this will help you save time.

Always wash new lingerie before wearing them. Being new doesn't mean they are clean. If you need to soak the garment, do it for half an hour only and make sure the detergent you are using is evenly mixed before adding the garments to avoid blotches in your bra and panties.

And just as you would with regular clothes, never mix the dark coloured ones with the light ones. Some fabrics bleed, you do not want to stain the light coloured ones with other colors.

Rinse the garment thoroughly and hang them up up to dry. Keeping them in their original shape when stowing them is the best way to preserve them. Folding them and piling them up high could crush them ans loose their shape.

Review: Shandali Travel Towel

I was recently sent a Shandali Travel Towel so I could share my opinions with you all. It's a full-sized towel but it's great for traveling because it is lightweight and not bulky at all.

Now, when I think of towels, terry cloth first comes to mind, but I was pleasantly surprised that the cloth is like velvet and it's thin. It's made from 100% Microfiber Material and available in 3 colors: Pebble and Stone, River Blue and Light Blue and comes in 2 sizes: Small - 20"x40" inches and Medium 24"x48" inches. According to the website this towel is ULTRA-ABSORBENT & QUICK-DRYING. It absorbs wetness and drys 10x as fast as a cotton towel.

What I like about this towel?

True to their claim, it's super absorbent. I've got thick and long hair and with a regular towel, it's pretty soaked up already before I even get to wipe my body after bathing. Sorry I'm not posting pics of myself here. ;)

Regular towels don't have loops! The Shandali Travel Towel comes with a hanging loop so you can easily hang it on a hook without ever worrying that it might fall on a wet floor.

I also love that the towel is big but when folded it can be really small; perfect for travelers.

What I don't like about this towel?

I honestly don't find any drawbacks with this towel. I super love it and it's easy to wash and keep.

Review: CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circle Lightener

In my previous post, I mentioned that I was sent samples of CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Sun Care Soothing Lip Balm with SPF15 and CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circle Lightener. I already did the review for the lip balm, and now I am reviewing the Eye Tuck.

As a busy mom and a blogger, I usually do my online work at night until the wee hours of the morning. With only a few hours of sleep, I need to get up early to take care of my family. I do get dark circles and puffy eyes from time to time. I've never used a dark circle lightener before so I was excited to see if it really works.

I have noticed no significant improvement to my dark circles, but I only used it for a couple of days. Maybe if I continue using it, it will eventually lighten the dark circles just like what other users are saying. As for the eye tuck I noticed a slight reduction on my puffy eyes. Maybe this is the right product for me.

What I like?

The texture of the cream is very light so it's easy to work with. It worked well at moisturizing the soft skin around the eyes. Although I don't wear makeup, I'm sure this will work well with those who do. It's not thick and dries up pretty quickly.

I also love that it's in a tube with elongated tip, making it a cinch to apply near the eye area. It has a very narrow opening that allows you to control the amount of cream you want to use.

What I don't like?

Nothing!

Would I recommend it?

YES. For its price of Php299, I think it's worth it. I may not have seen significant effects right away but I like its moisturizing effect. The skin around my eyes felt soft all day.

Review: CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Sun Care Soothing Lip Balm with SPF15

I was recently sent some samples of CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Sun Care Soothing Lip Balm with SPF15 and CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circle Lightener so I could share my opinions with all of you. I was so excited when the "treats" arrived on my doorstep. Thanks Unilab for the generous post-holiday gifts!

I used the lip balm right away and loved the hint of menthol. There's this tingly sensation that cools lips right away. It's soothing and doesn't look oily at all. My lips tend to get dry and flaky at times and this lip balm is great for everyday use. I can even go out with it because it has double sunscreen protection against UVA/UVB rays for the lips.

The balm also contains Mulberry Extract that lightens darkened lips and Moisturizing Oils that reduce dryness. I used to smoke and although I quit years ago, my lips are dark. I have used the lip balm only for a couple of days so I didn't see any improvements, yet, but with continued use, I'm sure it will help brighten my dark lips.

What I like?

Retailed at Php190, I'd say you get your money's worth. It's soothing, it's hypo-allergenic, has a nice packaging, gives a soothing feel right after application, moisturizes lips for hours and relieves dry and chapped lips.

What I don't like?

I don't like pot packaging a lot. Unlike the push-up type, I find it unhygienic when you have to rub your finger in there each time you apply. It may not work when your hands are not clean. So, ALWAYS apply with clean hands.

Would I recommend it?

YES. Whether you suffer from dry lips or not (men included), this is a great product to use. It soothes and moisturizes your lips while protecting them from the damaging effects of the sun. Plus, it helps brighten dark lips.

Almost Like New

Since hubs is not using his bike anymore, my son asked if he could have it. Although he said yes, he didn't give it to him right away. The old bike is not in good shape so he needs to replace some parts. He also looked for affordable valves for a pump online. The tires don't need to be replaced yet. They only need to be inflated and they're good to go. He's also thinking of repainting the body. The boy will definitely be surprised when he sees his dad's work.
